Hello Planner Girls, today we have two of our Design Team Members - Leslie and Kim showing you how they used the The Sweet Life Kit. This kit is perfect for everyone who love sweets, desserts and pastel colors.
Let's start with Leslie
Hello lovely VB Addicts, Leslie here, and I am so thrilled to share with you my plan with me using the “Sweet Life” January Planner Decorating Kit! The January kit is absolutely wonderful with all the beautiful pastel watercolors and sweets! All these amazing stickers and die cuts are all designed by our very talented Tiffany. I will be doing this week’s plan with me in my Hobonichi Cousin, which is A5 in size and a vertical week on 2 pages. The paper in the Hobonichi is perfect for water color, which is why I chose this one for the Sweet Life kit.
I prepped my pages first with a light wash of pastel water colors and florals for a fun background page. Nothing compares though to the gorgeous floral and sweet treat ephemera that is exclusive to our kit. Also, exclusive to the Sweet Life kit are the Clear Tape stickers, the Planner set (page flags, labels, and shapes), Word/Date Stickers, Deco sheet and boxes, and Headers. I am in awe of all the detail that goes into every piece. You will also find in the January kit is some beautiful silver foil doily washi tape, watercolor sticky notes, a super cute Dessert pen, and so much more.
Now the real fun begins, and that means beautifying my planner pages with all this goodness. Showing the left side of the page, I layered the doily washi and the best ever Clear Tape, along with the adorable ephemera and stickers from the Deco sheet to the bottom of the page, and throughout each day of the week. I love the little hearts on the clear tape at the top of my page. Such fun details! I mixed in some of the gorgeous Deco Boxes, as well as a few of the headers, page flags, and labels for appointments in each column. I love that no matter what I am planning in, the Villabeautifful Planner Kits fit perfectly.
As you may have noticed, I am a creative planner type, and love to decorate my pages with lots of layers and texture. The Planner Decorating Kits are so great for whatever style you plan in. The second half of my week is filled with all the elements and products in yummy layers of such gorgeous colors. Whenever I do layering in my planner, I try to do them in layers of 3’s. For example, adding a header sticker to a page flag, with a fun sticker or ephemera piece is one of the ways I like to add interest to my pages. The Weekend Banner from the Planner set sheet is so fun! And that Sweet Life Coffee Cup ephemera piece is the best!
I had so much fun with the Sweet Life Kit. There are so many great and beautiful products to plan with. The January kit also came with the adorable heart planner clip by MahalMade. And, of course, there is the gorgeous journal card that comes in each kit, “The Best Things in Life are Sweet”. I hope you were inspired to have fun in your planning and found some new ways to beautify your planner.
The next one is contributed by Kim
First off, I wanted to make a sweet little 15 page notepad to put in my A5. The cover is the token card she always includes. I topped it with the polka-dot header packaging from the exclusive ephemera she designed and added a few bits to finish it off.
The kit also came with a water color sticky note pad which I’ve included with a couple more sweet treats just in case I wanted to use them for the notes section as I planned away.
The dashboard background was made with some scrapbooking paper but I wanted at trail of treats to great me every day as I came to plan!
I decided to include some packaging again. This time the doily from the VB tag that always greets me. It is used as a base for another ephemera piece that I wet embossed in a matching silver as the washi tape.
In the lower boxes of my Inkwell Press inserts, I decided to use the EC full boxes with the headers stickers on the side. If I used a decorative sticker to fill out the rest of the space, it fit just perfect there. Each vertical section has its own purpose, whether it be for motivation or reminders!
If you’ve seen any of my You Tube Video’s I’m having trouble with all that white space in the middle between the rings. Problem solved! I added a large flower ephemera for both side of the pages and added a piece of baker’s twine as I laced up the inserts! Totally decorative but super fun and sweet!
Thank you all for taking a bite from our sweet treats to you!
