VB Spoilers: Mini Coffee Cup

Hi VB friends!

It’s Maria here, and I’m so excited to show you my project using the “Pretty Little Things” November VB Kit. This kit is so, so, so cute! I can’t wait to use all of the fun pieces to make different projects. During this time of the year, I’m always looking for something fun to give neighbors, friends at work, and my kid’s teachers. This little project is perfect for that and more!

I decorated these adorable mini coffee cups using some of the VB items. They are the perfect size to fit a k-cup inside, several washi rolls, candy, or fun small treats. You can also make them and hang them as ornaments on your tree, or just keep it on your desk as a cute decoration. So many fun ways to use them!

Supplies used:

VB Kit paper and vellum

VB Kit washi

VB Kit stickers

Paper trimmer/scissors

Pop dots

Double sided tape

4 oz. coffee cups with lids

Step 1: I started by taking one of the cups and making a template of the cover. There are several ways to do this. One is to take the cup apart and trace it on white paper. You can also just try to estimate the size by rolling it on a piece of paper (this is what I did). You definitely want to try it on regular white paper until you are happy with the template. Then, I took one of the papers from the kit and traced the templates on it. The papers go so well together, and are double sided so it makes it easy to find two colors that work.

Step 2: After I cut the two pieces out, I used some strong double sided tape to cover the outside of the cup.

Step 3: I wanted to put something on the cover that would stand out, so I looked through the sticker book for an image. There are so many fun images, but I decided to go with the handheld mirror. I fussy cut around the mirror, and kept the backing on the sticker to make it easier to do.

Step 4: Since I wanted it to stand out, I decided to put a foam piece behind it so that it was popped up. I had these little foam pieces in my stash, but you can also find them in the scrapbooking section of most craft stores.

Step 5: Next I took some of the gorgeous clear bow washi tape from the kit, and put it on white ribbon. I used seam binding that I love to use on lots of projects, but you can use any ribbon that you have. I recommend that you use a solid colored ribbon so that the details of the washi stand out. I tied it around the cup and made a bow at the top. Then I put one of the stickers in the middle of the bow from the kit for some added beauty!

Again, I used it to put a k-cup inside because it fits perfectly to give to my kid’s teachers. I’m also planning on filling them with washi and clips to give to a friend, and I want to put some on my tree. The possibilities are endless!

This kit is so beautiful, and has so many fun images and pieces! I can’t wait to see how you use your kit! Don’t forget to share in the villabeauTIFFul FB group and tag @shopvillabeautifful on Instagram.
