VB Tutorial: Packaging Projects
Hello Villababes!

What do you usually do with those extra pieces of packaging included with the VB Kits? Toss them? Reuse them? Today I wanted to share a few different ways you can upcycle those things!

One idea is to reuse the backing cards for dividers. This can be as simple or extra as you want. To start, trim the cards to your desired planner size. Obviously the smaller cards will only work for smaller planners, but the larger cards can be used for multiple sizes.

I love that the cards have a little extra pattern at the bottom, so I chose to trim off the top and leave the pattern for my divider.

Rounding the corners is optional, but I like the way it looks. Then, punch your card to insert into your planner of choice.

You can decorate the cards as much or as little as you like by adding stickers, doing a washi dashboard on the back, adding side or top tabs, etc. You can also flip the cards depending on which way you want the pattern to face.

For the next idea, I'll be using leftover pieces of the cards I just cut to make a simple page marker.
The first step for this project is to punch the card to fit into your planner. Then, using your planner as a guide, trim it so that a little bit will stick out of the top when the planner is closed.

I also used the Magical Plans sticker book to add a tab to the top of the page marker. This can be used to write on and indicate if you're marking a "to do" list or "monthly" or any specified section.
Then simply pop it into your planner!

The next idea for packaging projects is to reuse a backing card as a washi card. This one is pretty straightforward.

You can trim it to whatever size you want, round the corners, even laminate it! Then, pick your washi tapes. I chose to stick with the Magical Plans washi set. Lay the washi down onto the front of the card, leaving a small bit on the end. Press the end of the washi down on the back of the card. This will be your wrapping guide to keep the lines straight. Continue to wrap it around slowly, making sure you keep it lined up.

Keep wrapping until you reach the desired thickness or length. I don't like to make mine super thick, but I like to have enough that I can decorate a layout on the go if needed. Depending on the card size and spacing, you can usually fit multiple tapes on one card.

Washi cards are perfect for traveling, passing out samples, or keeping your fave washi tapes close without having to carry around a bunch of rolls. You can even slip it into your own DIY mini envelope!

....and those are just a few ideas! The backing cards are way too pretty to throw away so I'm always looking for new ways to use them. If you have any other ideas, please leave them in the comments or share a photo in the VB facebook group.
