Today's blog is a tutorial for creating your own planner paperclip storage.
Here's what you'll need:
- 5 printed digital papers from July's VBKit - adhesive roller or glue - 1 8x10 picture frame (I got mine at dollar tree) - exacto knife - paper cutter - cutting mat - washi tape (optional)
Step 1:Measure your printed paper short-ways at 7.5 inches (refer to the picture below)
After cutting the long strip off, fold the paper longways but leave half an inch from the edge.
Step 2:Repeat Step 1 for four of the five papers you printed.
Step 3:Next, take the backing off the photo frame and remove the glass as well.
Step 4: Instead of folding the fifth paper the same way as the others, measure 1 inch from the top, mark with a pencil, then crease the middle of the paper at that pencil mark.
Step 5:Measure 1.5 inches from the top of that strip and mark with a pencil. We will be lining up the next piece at the 1.5 inch mark.
This is what your strips should look like when lined up at the 1.5 inch markings. I'm going to be glueing them together next.
Step 6:Glue the first folded/creased paper on the frame backing. We don't want to glue the flaps completely shut so only glue the back of the paper down.
Step 7: For the next paper, you will glue only the bottom half of the paper to the frame backing. The top will be where we insert paperclips, so we don't want it shut.
Step 8: Continue glueing all the papers, but remember not to glue the top of the folded paper down, only the bottom.
Step 9:Once all of the papers are glued, flip it over, and take your exacto knife and cut off all excess paper so that it will fit in the frame.
Step 10:Pop it back into the frame!
(I put washi at the top to add some flair.)
You're all done! You just made a spectacular paperclip storage display using the digitals from the Fashionista VBKit.
