Acetate Pocket Dashboard
Hello VB Fam!

Transforming your planner into a personalized and functional masterpiece is simpler than you imagine. The acetate paper from the Around the World Luxe VBKit can be used to create a durable and chic dashboard, complete with convenient pockets for all your necessities. Read on to discover how I created a focal point for my VBPlanner that enhances both its visual appeal and practicality.

VBKit Supplies used:
  • Acetate Paper

Other supplies used:
  • Blue Cardstock
  • Paper Trimmer
  • Strong Double-sided Tape
  • Disc hole punch

The first step is to measure and cut the acetate to fit your planner precisely. I used one of my planner pages as a guide for cutting.

The next step was to decide on the pocket’s size and shape. I used cardstock that complimented the colors of the acetate and then cut two diagonal pieces.

After making sure that the pieces lined up correctly, I applied strong double-sided tape along the sides and bottom edge of the pocket pieces, carefully leaving the top edge open for access. Make sure you press the edges down firmly to ensure a secure bond and let it dry completely. I repeated the process to adhere the second pocket to the back of the acetate.

The final step is to punch holes in your pocket dashboard, making sure they align with your planner's binding system. I use the VBPlanner which has a disc-punch binding system. Once finished, insert your newly crafted dashboard into your planner.

My custom acetate pocket dashboard is now ready! This little project adds a pop of color to my planner. I love that I can move it around to have access to important documents, notes, or even extra sticker sheets.

Here are a few tips to consider when making your dashboard:
  • Choose Strong Adhesives: Ensure the longevity of your pockets by selecting adhesives that are strong as well as transparent.
  • Avoid Overloading: Keep in mind the pocket’s capacity to prevent strain on the acetate. If more room is needed, add more pockets.
  • Regular Maintenance: Check the adhesive bonds periodically, especially if you frequently access the pocket’s contents.

Creating a custom acetate dashboard with a pocket is a fantastic way to add both style and function to your planner. This project not only allows for personal expression but also enhances the planner's functionality, keeping your essentials neatly organized and accessible. Whether you’re a planning novice or a seasoned enthusiast, this acetate dashboard pocket project will bring a new level of customization and elegance to your daily planning routine. I hope this inspires you to think outside the box when personalizing your planner to fit your style while maintaining functionality.
